education and creativity…
Platforms, Plugins & AI Tools
Alongside eLearning, video and design, I build the digital tools that learning and business run on. My work is aimed at SMEs and training providers who need something built around how they actually work, rather than an off-the-shelf product that almost fits.
- Custom WordPress plugins: compliance tools, booking and check-in systems, marketplace listings and data exports, packaged and ready to install.
- AI-assisted learning tools: AI tutors, quizzes and progress tracking for GCSE and apprenticeship learners, plus feedback tools for assessors.
- Web apps: purpose-built platforms with user accounts, databases and AI features such as automated letter and document writing.
- Dashboards: clear, visual reporting on learner progress, customer feedback and sentiment.
Recent builds include an AI tutor platform for GCSE and apprenticeship qualifications, a holiday-let compliance plugin for Welsh property owners, and a consumer complaints platform with an AI letter writer and sentiment dashboard.
Featured project: Llŷn Live
llyn.live: the digital heart of the Llŷn Peninsula. Llŷn Live is my biggest development project. I designed and built it from scratch to bring visitors, locals and businesses together on one live platform for the Llŷn.
- Live conditions: weather, tides, sea state and sunset are checked the moment the page opens.
- “Open right now” map: every beach, café, pub, walk and shop on one map, with opening hours worked out live.
- Local business directory: free listings that businesses can claim and manage from their own dashboard, plus a paid Founder membership and advertising.
- QR Welcome for holiday lets: a guest WiFi and check-in page, a commission-free book-direct button and Wales Visitor Levy compliance.
- Community and content: events, local news, jobs, for sale and swap, guides and stories, Welsh-language taster pages, local radio and a YouTube channel.
It brings together everything I do: platform development, UX and brand design, content writing, video and a sustainable business model built for a rural community.
Showreel
A quick tour of recent work: animation, video, eLearning and design in one place.
Product training showcase: a 75-second animated walkthrough of a seven-module dealer training course I designed and built in Storyline.
Compliance series showcase: a 47-second look at a five-unit data protection eLearning series, built on one reusable Storyline template with video backgrounds and consistent navigation.
Cyber security series: five narrated Storyline compliance modules with click-to-reveal layers and a knowledge check in each.
Remote working guide: a rapid-response wellbeing and practical guide for staff, built and updated within a week as lockdown began.
And the full showreel:

eLearning & Learning Development
Learning is where I started, and it is still at the centre of what I do. I am a qualified lecturer (Cert Ed) with a postgraduate qualification in eLearning & Multimedia, and I have designed learning for everyone from secondary school pupils to apprentices, frontline teams and senior managers.
From needs analysis to launch
- Learning design: training needs analysis, learning objectives, storyboards and scripts, built around real workplace scenarios rather than click-next slides.
- Development: interactive courses in Articulate Storyline and Rise, animation in Vyond, screen-capture and video in Camtasia, and graphics in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deployment: SCORM packages ready for any LMS, plus LMS and LXP platform set-up, administration and reporting.
- Blended and face-to-face: workshops, guides, job aids and train-the-trainer materials, so learning carries on after the course ends.
- Evaluation: knowledge checks, feedback and completion data to show what is working and improve the next version.
Apprenticeships and professional development
- Digital Business Partner & Apprenticeship Coordinator at LSL Property Services, running apprenticeship programmes and digital learning across the business.
- Apprenticeship assessor and coach in digital marketing, reviewing learner work against knowledge, skills and behaviours and writing personalised, constructive feedback.
- Course and resource development for Content Creator apprenticeships (ST0105), including end-point assessment readiness and distinction guides.
- Curriculum development and L&D business partnering, matching learning to business goals.
Recent learning projects
- AI at Work: a six-unit course taking staff from what AI is and isn’t, through prompting and creating marketing content, to using AI safely, legally and ethically.
- GA4 Field Guide: a practical guide to Google Analytics 4 for digital marketing learners.
- EPA guides: readiness, presentation and professional discussion guides helping apprentices prepare for end-point assessment.
- An AI tutor platform for GCSE and apprenticeship learners, with quizzes, progress tracking and a built-in AI tutor (see Platforms, Plugins & AI Tools above).
Clients and employers include ADNOC, N Brown and Triumph Motorcycles. The courses below range from offshore safety training for ADNOC to compliance training for N Brown. Press play on any of them to try it.
Offshore CBT: Computer-based safety training for offshore operations, developed for ADNOC on a freelance basis.
Music Catalogue Redesign: A catalogue redesigned as an interactive Storyline experience to explore rather than scroll.
Interviewing Skills: A skills course for managers on planning and running effective, fair interviews.
Anti-Money Laundering: Anti-money laundering compliance training, built for N Brown.
Digital Learning Leadership
Building a course is one part of the job. Making digital learning work across a whole organisation means owning the strategy, the platforms, the data and the relationships as well. These are the skills I bring to that:
Digital learning strategy
Setting a clear direction and roadmap for digital learning, so every course, platform and campaign ties back to business goals and learner needs.
LMS & LXP ownership
Platform set-up, administration, content structure and governance, so learners can find what they need. I have deployed LMS and LXP platforms and built my own learning platform with progress tracking.
Learning design & production
From needs analysis to launch: Storyline and Rise courses, video, animation, microlearning and assessments grounded in adult learning principles.
Stakeholders, suppliers & projects
Working with leaders, HR, subject matter experts and platform providers to turn business problems into learning, and running projects from scoping to launch, as an L&D business partner and apprenticeship coordinator.
Data, evaluation & reporting
Using completion, assessment and feedback data to show impact, report to stakeholders and improve the next version.
Compliance & quality
Mandatory and regulatory training, such as anti-money laundering for N Brown and offshore safety for ADNOC, with quality assurance built in.
Accessibility & user experience
Learning that works for everyone: clear structure, captions, keyboard-friendly interactions and accessible colour and contrast, designed with WCAG guidelines in mind.
Innovation & AI
Bringing AI into learning responsibly, from an AI at Work course for staff to an AI tutor platform for GCSE and apprenticeship learners.
Learning culture & engagement
Using internal communications, campaigns and communities to get people engaged with learning, drawing on people-brand and EVP work at N Brown.
Experience
Learning & development
I’ve taught in schools and further education, where I was a course tutor responsible for groups of students and their progress, and I’ve managed small teams. I’ve designed compliance and safety eLearning for an international energy company and a major UK online retailer, coordinated apprenticeship programmes for a national property services group, and coach and assess digital marketing apprentices. Recently I’ve written apprenticeship courses, end-point assessment guides, a six-unit AI at Work course and a GA4 guide for new marketers.
What this shows: teaching, team leadership, learning design, programme management, coaching and curriculum development.
People & communications
I helped a major online fashion retailer launch a new people brand and employee value proposition, from the launch campaign and recognition scheme to a values campaign featuring real colleagues. Across my roles I’ve produced animated explainers, newsletters and staff updates that people actually read.
What this shows: employer branding, change communication and internal communications.
Digital products
I design and build my own platforms. Llŷn Live is live: a guide and business directory for a whole peninsula. Three more are prototypes ready to launch: an AI tutor platform for GCSE and apprenticeship learners, a consumer complaints platform with an AI letter writer, and a WordPress plugin that makes holiday-let regulation simple. AI tools let me go from idea to working prototype in days.
What this shows: product ownership, AI-assisted development, live data integrations and business model design.
Design, print & content
I started as a graphic designer, producing catalogues, brochures and print for national retail, transport and sports brands, plus prospectuses and newsletters for schools. Today I also make videos and podcast thumbnails, and I’ve written and designed a novel.
What this shows: design, print production, video and storytelling.

Internal Communications & Staff Engagement
The animations above were made to land important messages with staff, and that is the heart of this work. I help organisations explain change, build culture and keep people informed, using whatever format will actually be read, watched and remembered.
Internal communications and staff engagement
- Animated explainers and short videos that make policies, processes and change easy to understand.
- Internal newsletters, intranet content, digital signage and screen loops for offices, branches and sites.
- Leadership messages, all-staff updates and briefing packs for managers to cascade.
- Engagement surveys, pulse checks and “you said, we did” follow-ups that show staff they’ve been heard.
- Recognition schemes, values and behaviours campaigns, and celebration content.
Campaign initiation and development
- Taking a campaign from first idea to launch: objectives, audience, key messages and a realistic timeline.
- Campaign naming, branding and a visual identity that works across email, print, video and screens.
- Launch assets, teaser content and toolkits so managers and champions can carry the message.
- Measuring what worked, through reach, feedback and engagement data, and refining the next phase.
HR and people support
- Employer brand and EVP (employee value proposition) materials, including people brand launches.
- Onboarding journeys, induction packs and welcome videos for new starters and new intakes.
- Policy communications, employee handbooks and benefits guides written in plain English.
- L&D business partnering: matching training to business goals and building the learning to deliver it.
- Apprenticeship programme support, from recruitment campaigns to learner resources and progress tracking.
With experience in HR, internal communications and learning and development for large employers, I can work as an extension of your people team, or simply take on the projects your team doesn’t have time for.
Case study: N Brown people brand and EVP
At N Brown, the online fashion retailer behind brands such as JD Williams, I helped launch a new people brand and employee value proposition (EVP): the promise of what it means to work there, and how that is shown to colleagues and future recruits.
- Launch campaign: the “Say hello to our new people brand” launch campaign.
- EVP and recognition: “Empowered by Trust” postcards and the #ShoutOut recognition campaign.
- Behaviours: a campaign bringing the company’s values and behaviours to life with real colleagues.
- Branded platform screens: login and welcome screens carrying the new brand, alongside compliance eLearning such as the anti-money laundering course above.

Podcast & YouTube Production
I edit and produce podcast and YouTube content, along with the thumbnails and channel artwork that get it clicked. The work above includes thumbnail design for the Shaun Attwood True Crime Podcast.
- Editing: podcast, interview and internal video edits, with audio clean-up, captions and graphics.
- Thumbnails and channel branding: eye-catching thumbnails, banners and reusable branded templates.
- Channel support: channel setup, publishing schedules and promotion across social media.
Reports, Publications & Print
Alongside digital work, I design and produce documents that need to look professional on screen and in print, from the first layout to print-ready files and interactive flipbooks like the two above.
- Annual reports: annual, impact and ESG reports, with data, charts and infographics laid out clearly.
- Newsletters: internal and external newsletters, in print or digital, designed as a one-off or a template you can reuse.
- Catalogues and price guides: product catalogues, brochures and price lists that are easy to update season to season.
- Large-format print: posters, banners, exhibition stands, signage and point-of-sale.
- HR and people documents: employee handbooks, onboarding packs, policy documents, EVP and culture materials, and internal communications.
Everything is supplied print-ready, accessible as a PDF, or published online as a page-turning flipbook.
Heroes Past and Present: A Journey of Conflict
Produced over ten years ago while I was teaching, this 112-page, lottery-funded book grew out of a lunchtime conversation with students who knew very little about the conflicts British forces have served in since 1945.
We took students to meet veterans, gathered their first-hand accounts and turned them into a book, a website and learning resources, covering conflicts from the Greek Civil War and Korea to Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. I co-produced the book, including its design and layout.
Turn the pages on the right, or open it full screen.
From the print archive
Catalogues, brochures, menus and promotional print produced for brands including American Golf Discount, Keyline, BSL, First Mainline and Manchester City Football Club.

Branding, Packaging & Education
Brand identities, packaging, vehicle livery and websites for small businesses and community organisations, from die-cut product packaging and a full car wrap for an orthodontics practice to visuals for a new church building.
Having worked in education, I have also produced a wide range of school communications: prospectuses, newsletters, new intake packs for parents, school websites and classroom posters. That experience is why so much of my work still centres on learning.

Book Cover Design & Publishing
Cover design and publishing for fiction, including my own novel, The Saltwater Lie, a story set on the Llŷn Peninsula and inspired by true events. You can read the first chapter free on llyn.live.
From watercolour-style illustration to dark, atmospheric artwork, each cover is designed to work at full size in print and as a thumbnail on an online bookshop.
